[9]Yoko Furusho [10] was born in Tokyo. She moved to New York to study illustration at the School of Visual Arts. After her graduation, she started her career as a professional illustrator and artist. She likes to draw details, textures and patterns with ink and acrylics. She usually uses fashion as her inspiration. Currently she is working as an illustrator for many magazines and newspapers.

Kim Herbst [12] is a half-Chinese illustrator based in San Francisco, CA. She graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and currently works in the social games industry. Her Flash animations and designs are seen by 7 million people daily in a game available on Facebook. Kim's created illustrations for Oxford University Press, Bitch Magazine, the Boston Weekly Dig, and others. She loves collecting postcards that are sent to her and small fat birds sitting on ledges.

Rick Kitagawa [15] is a visual artist based out of the foggy hills of San Francisco, California. He is a multi-disciplinary artist who paints in acrylic, gouache, and watercolor, illustrates in photoshop, and prints with silkscreen, linocuts, and letterpress. Rick's work deals primarily with juxtaposition -- the fantastical with the ordinary, imagery with text, contemporary with classic. The subjects of his prints and paintings range from cryptozoology to board games, from everyday objects and people to purple whales, from puns to politics. Often utilizing text to complicate/simplify/expound on the imagery, his work is often humorous but can contain deeper socio-political messages. Rick is a co-founder of Paper Hat Productions [16].

[18]Jorge Mascarenhas [19] was born in Boston, Massachussets. Since the age of seven he was selling his famed elementary school comic called "Ferinhas (Little Beasts)." He grew up in three different places (Brazil, Mexico and US) and majored in illustration at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. His major artistic influences are Nordic, Post-Impressionists and Japanese artists. His work has been honored by the New York Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, American Illustration, 3x3 Magazine, Spectrum Fantastic Art and Illustration West Annuals. In addition, he's been awarded a Silver Medal by Creative Quarterly, included in Lüerzer's Archive 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide book and featured in Communication Arts Fresh. Clients include The New Yorker, Runner's World, Dell Magazines, Stanford University, Lürzer's Archive and others. He currently resides in Alameda, California.

[21]Danny Neece [22] has been a Oakland representative for 10 years now, within the city he found a sense of belonging. Mr. Neece has one foot in fine art and the other in illustration, with the hopes of finding a happy medium with both. Currently, Mr. Neece has been focusing mostly on personal work that has been a revolving door. Danny's style and approach don't necessarily change but themes definitely go in and out of fashion for him. Nature has always been a big influence in his creativity, whether it is represented in a painting or not, going out walking and observing helps Danny with the flow of his thought process. Mr. Neece is hoping to come across some sweet Illustration gigs this summer and finally start writing and illustrating the graphic novel he told myself he was going to make 3 years ago. Keep your fingers crossed and wish him luck.
[23]Rob Sato [24] produces rich, detailed imagery, mixing scenes of stark horror, quiet beauty, and humor. He is the author of the Xeric Grant Award winning comic "Burying Sandwiches" and his paintings and illustrations have been featured in Giant Robot, Juxtapoz, and Hi-Fructose magazines. Born and raised in California's Central Valley, he lives and works in Los Angeles.
[26]Eve Skylar [27] is an award-winning, San Francisco-based visual development artist, illustrator, and stop-motion animator. She is currently working on an upcoming animated feature film. Eve is also co-founder of Paper Hat Productions [5].
[28]Jon Stich [29] has been creating pictures since he was nine years old, when his father took him to a Red Lobster and he scrawled all over the menu. The first person to be bothered by his artwork was his seventh grade teacher Mr. Schaffsma, who became angered by Jon's decision to use the back of another student's test to draw a detailed rendition of a gentleman enthusiastically pooping. Since then, he has somehow managed to create and sell artwork of the same quality to the masses. A 2004 graduate of the California College of Arts & Crafts, finishing with distinction, he lives and works in Oakland, CA.
[30]The ever huggable Joseph To [31] went to college in Oakland, is based in San Francisco, and currently works in Cupertino, churning out massive amounts of emails on a daily basis for a small fruit company. When he's not filling the inboxes of terribly important people with immensely important messages, he doodles little pictures -- sometimes of people on the bus and other times of circus freaks. Did I mention that he was huggable?
