In this 2009 film, a man who apparently fell from the sky picks up a young woman and flees with her from a burning city to the countryside. His travels through a mythic landscape moves between realism and ritual in this tableau-like, episodic tale. Written and directed by Vimukthi Jayasundara, in Sinhalese with English subtitles. The ActNow Foundation presents "The Next 15 Minutes" screenwriting competition, open to writers under-represented in the American film industry with respect to ethnicity, gender, sexual identity and/or disability. All genres welcome. Submit the best 15 pages of your original script for the chance to be a part of a live staged reading at South Oxford Space in Fort Greene, New York.
