The choir was recently the first group of non-Korean civilians to perform on the observation platform of the DMZ in South Korea, singing songs of peace as well as Korean folk songs. The choir often tours internationally, even performing in post-Apartheid South Africa in the 1990s.

Josephine Lee, Chicago Children's Choir Promote Peace
The Korea Times recently profiled Josephine Lee, a Korean American who is the youngest artistic director of the Chicago Children's Choir, a multicultural organization founded in 1956 during the Civil Rights Movement as a means of fostering cultural diversity and understanding through music.The choir was recently the first group of non-Korean civilians to perform on the observation platform of the DMZ in South Korea, singing songs of peace as well as Korean folk songs.
