And It's a Wrap!
New York was oh so very hot. Even when I was running around in the skimpiest outfits (by my standards), I still felt like I was in a sauna 24/7. Needless to say, I am so happy to be back in San Francisco, where the weather is nice and cold.

I was sad that I couldn't see all of the films. However, all the ones that I was fortunate enough to catch have all touched me in some way, whether it's through the clever writing, the cinematography, or simply through the messages that these films conveyed. I am a complete sucker for documentaries so out of all of the films, I have especially enjoyed all of the documentaries.

Congratulations to this year's AAIFF 2008 winners:

Emerging Director Award in Narrative Feature
HALF-LIFE
Dir. Jennifer Phang

Emerging Director Award in Documentary Feature
AGAINST THE GRAIN: AN ARTIST'S GUIDE TO SURVIVING PERU
Dir. Ann Kaneko

AAIFF08 Audience Award ~ Narrative Feature
KISSING COUSINS
Dir. Amyn Kaderali

AAIFF08 Audience Award ~ Documentary Feature
WINGS OF DEFEAT
Dir. Risa Morimoto

Ah, good times. Look for a film festival coming near you (Philly in the house? Hawaii?) if you haven't seen any of these films yet, or better, pick up the DVD as some of them will be distributed!
