Tila Tequila Says She Helped Lift Gay Marriage Ban
Everyone's favorite Asian American MySpace model/singer/bisexual dating show contestant Tila Tequila recently told UsWeekly that her MTV show "A Shot at Love" should be credited for the recent legalization of same-sex marriages in California.
She tells the magazine, "It is because of me — I definitely think [my show] has helped the movement. Before it came out, everyone was still a little apprehensive about [same sex relationships]," she said. "Then they realized, 'Wow, everyone is really into this stuff, and it is fine.' The next thing you know, [gay marriage] is legal."
I'm hoping that UsWeekly took these statements out of context or that perhaps she was heavily medicated at the time of the interview. Regardless of your opinion on Ms. Tequila (Hyphen previously discussed Tila the Asian stereotype vs. Tila the savvy businesswoman), I think it's disrespectful to credit yourself with such a landmark civil rights victory. Especially if your contribution to the cause was romping around in a hot tub with various guys and gals. What would George Takei say?

If she thinks her media images have this much impact, then what does she think about how she is influencing young Asian girls with her fake eyelids, nose ridge work, blond hair, blue contacts, and every other change to try to be a White chick?

OMG Please. Tila is no role model and if anything proved anti gays correct by showing what a pervert a bi woman can be. I mean tonguing your lovers mother is pretty sick. What will she do next to make Gays look perverted?
