Playwright Diana Son Goes Back to Work

Hyphen has been a flurry of awesome events lately, and we're having another one this weekend. Cosmic Night Out is an opportunity to get discounted tickets to the West Coast premiere of Diana Son's play Satellites at the Aurora Theater and to come party with Hyphen staff afterwards at Berkeley's Zabu Zabu. Don't miss it.

Meanwhile, check out this awesome NY Times video of Diana Son -- a member of the Writers Guild of America -- heading back to her day job as a writer for Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Wow, who knew? This piece is great because it talks about trying to make a living as a playwright, what the strike was really like, and the Asian immigrant mentality.

even though the event we hosted is over, the show is still running. i saw it last night and was really impressed. the play dealt with a lot of really interesting issues. if you can, definitely try to make it! =)

I really enjoyed as well. The crowd is not the typical As. Am crowd, so that makes it also very interesting. Their reactions and such. Stay for the talk back if you have a chance. Regardless, whether you're a theatre buff or a first-timer, white, yellow, black, or red, anyone would be able to enjoy the family focus of this show.
