AZN Television being shut down
Just a quick hit with news that Comcast is shutting down AZN Television, a cable network that targeted Asian Americans.
A couple of years ago, there was a burst by media companies trying to capture the elusive "Asian American" market. MTV started three channels -- MTV Chi, MTV Desi and MTV K, targeting Chinese, South Asian and Korean Americans -- that it gave up on last year.
Another one bites the dust, I guess.

i really didn't see this coming at all. jus a few days (or weeks) ago, i received an email about azn launching something something new programming? oh i have the email right here. the subject said, "azn television kicks off the new year with new programming." WHAT HAPPENED?! i hope they'll continue www.azntv.com/outspoken though. i really enjoyed reading that.
Its really a good channel
Here's a nice analysis of the situation from Jeff Yang.
What the heck and they're shutting it down in April?! That's a great channel. As a black person,I'd always wondered why Asian-Americans never had 24hr programming focused on their culture that was accessible plus had cross-culture viewing.(I thought they were not interested.)
I hope ImaginAsian Ent.(thank god it's privately funded) and other companies who are genuinely interested... continue to provide a much needed addition to american diversity.
just testing
