Rich Indian = Modern Day Slavers, Again

There’s nothing like a little modern-day slavery to get the presses hot and bothered.

The NY Post dubbed Varsha Sabhnani "Cruella" back in June when this story broke, and they continued with the gleeful reporting over the legal demise of these perfume merchants.

When the verdict reading was over, their daughter Dakshina, 20, who is a diabetic, suddenly slumped backward. Her eyes rolled back in her head and she fainted, leaning against her sister, Tina, 21. Varsha rushed over and frantically began trying to revive her daughter. "Please! Please be OK!" she wailed. "Mommy will be there for you." Then Varsha fainted.

The terrible thing about the Sabhnanis is that they are just another in the relatively long line of rich Asian immigrants who are exploiting women, like Berkeley-based Lakireddy Bali Reddy, or the many UN diplomats who seem to think they are above human rights when it comes to their own home.

I can't wait until she meets her cellmate Big Bertha, with the tattoos and missing teeth. Then she'll find out what slavery really is.
