VC Filmfest Opening in Los Angeles

May 3, 2006

Some great movies are scheduled, including:

Journey From the Fall -- The opening night feature is an epic-length telling of the struggles of a Vietnamese family in the years following the Fall of Saigon in 1975, and of the efforts of the family to reunite half a world away in Southern California.

AMERICANese -- Director Eric Byler's (Charlotte Sometimes) closing night film tells this story of two lovers perhaps meant to be together, bewildered as they hopelessly drift apart. AMERICANese was opening night feature at the recent San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (Hyphen was a media sponsor).

Here are trailers of some of the movies and festival highlights.

If you're in L.A., go see a movie and support Asian American cinema.
